BIOGRAPHY- SHANNON NICOLE KYNION

Shannon Nicole Kynion is 22 years old and is currently an undergraduate student in her fourth year at Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art, with a concentration in photography. Shannon is interested in mixed media art

such as collage and assemblage in addition to both digital and film photography. She has built up an extensive exhibition list during her four years in college, and her most recent exhibition is a one person show in the Heritage Gallery of Shipman Library on the Adrian College campus. The Heritage Gallery show consists of a series of digital, landscape photographs.

Shannon grew up in a suburb near Cleveland, Ohio and is currently living on the Adrian college campus. She enjoys traveling and exploring new places and her art reflects those qualities. Shannon began working her first job at a telephone answering service during her

sophomore year of high school, at age 16. She continues to work at the answering service during college breaks and works for the Adrian College Department of Art and Design while at school. In the Art Department, Shannon works as a photographer in the digital imaging room

where students can bring their work in to be

photographed. She is and has always been an extremely dedicated, efficient, and honest worker. Shannon has held a position on various executive boards since her sophomore year of college and currently holds the position of club president for both the Alpha and Omega Women’s Bible study and the Adrian College Art Club.

Some of the exhibitions and art activities that Shannon has been a part of include: The Art-A-Licious Festival in downtown Adrian, MI, the Hidden Beauty Photo Contest, First Fridays, Adrian College Student Juried Exhibition, Empty Bowls Fundraiser, Michigan Small Colleges

Exhibition- Alma College, and mural painting at a

Pediatric Clinic in Adrian, MI. In her free time she enjoys frequenting coffee shops, going on photo excursions, downhill skiing, reading, hiking, biking, backpacking, making art, and writing poetry.
